JANA's Data Specialist is responsible for defining and improving data pipeline, integration, and modeling processes based on the needs of each client project. Working closely with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements, implement data integration solutions, and ensure the availability and reliability of data for analysis and reporting purposes.



JANA's Delivery Data Specialist defines data models and schemas, ensures data quality, and provides data warehouse management support to execute JANA's implementation process.





Responsibilities


Data Pipeline Development: Build, and optimize data pipelines and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to efficiently move and transform data from various sources into structured formats for storage and analysis Data Integration: Collaborate with data stakeholders to understand their requirements and develop data integration solutions that enable seamless and accurate data flows across systems and databases. Data Modeling and Schema Design: Implement data models and schemas that align with business requirements, ensuring data consistency, integrity, and performance. Implement data partitioning and indexing strategies to optimize query performance. Data Warehouse Management: Maintain data warehouses and data marts, ensuring data availability, reliability, and security. Monitor and tune database performance to meet service level agreements (SLAs) and scalability needs. Data Quality and Governance: Implement data quality checks and validation processes to ensure data accuracy and consistency. Enforce data governance policies, standards, and best practices to maintain data integrity and compliance. Data Security and Privacy: Implement data security measures and protocols to protect sensitive data. Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and industry standards. Infrastructure and Tooling: Implement appropriate data engineering tools, frameworks, and technologies to enhance data processing efficiency, scalability, and maintainability. Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in the data engineering field.

Required Skills & Experience


Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications in data engineering or database management are a plus. Data Engineering Experience: 1 year experience in data engineering is preferre Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, or Scala. Strong knowledge of SQL for data manipulation and query optimization. Experience with big data technologies and frameworks like Apache Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka. Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data services is desirable. Data Modeling and Database Management: Solid understanding of data modeling concepts, relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL), and data warehousing principles. Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) and columnar databases (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery) is advantageous. ETL and Data Integration: Hands-on experience with designing and implementing efficient ETL processes using tools like Apache Airflow, Apache NiFi, or Informatica. Familiarity with data integration patterns and technologies (e.g., APIs, message queues) is beneficial. Data Governance: Understanding of data governance principles. , data quality frameworks, and data security best practices. Familiarity with privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and experience in implementing data anonymization techniques is desirable.
