The Customer Experience Architecture (CXA) organization leads the design of our AI-enabled integrated Customer Success and Support motions across CE&S and drives the implementation requirements across end-to-end customer experience architectures, improving the quality and experience KPIs across CE&S.


The CE&S Business Intelligence (BI) Team is responsible for delivering data-driven decision-making and self-serve analytics to optimize customer experience and support operations across Microsoft's assisted and self-service support surfaces. We build and manage data platforms and data flows, oversee data and measurement governance, develop Machine Learning (ML) models, manage support-critical data tools, and provide both core and business-specific analytics resources and guidance.


We are seeking a goal driven Data Engineer - Copilot AI with deep expertise in building scalable data products, data agents across self-services surfaces. In this role, you will partner closely with engineering and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into reliable, high impact solutions. You will deliver clear insights, shape technical direction, and collaborate across product, program, and data engineering teams to enable data driven decision making.

Responsibilities

Design and develop Copilot Agents and Power Platform solutions (Power Apps, Power Automate) to streamline business workflows and enhance productivity. Build and customize Copilot experiences using Copilot Studio, integrating conversational AI into enterprise processes. Develop connectors and APIs to integrate Power Platform solutions with enterprise systems and external services. Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, create user stories, and deliver intuitive, scalable, low-code solutions. Implement prompt engineering and AI orchestration patterns to optimize Copilot responses and workflows. Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and accessibility standards. Evangelize best practices for Copilot and Power Platform development, mentoring peers and contributing to internal communities.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

Master's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years' experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling, or data engineering OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years' experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling, or data engineering OR equivalent experience. Experience in designing and developing Copilot Agents and Power Platform solutions (Power Apps, Power Automate)

Other Requirements:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire / transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with working with AI Foundry, and other LLMs like GPTs, Grok, Claude, Gemini Understanding integration patterns, AI Orchestration, Prompt Engineering, APIs, and Connectors. Data reliability engineering: CI/CD (Azure DevOps/GitHub), automated testing (e.g., Great Expectations or equivalent), monitoring/alerting, incident response, and cost management. Governance & security: taxonomy/business rules, lineage/metadata, GDPR/PII controls, and access management. Proven ability to convert ambiguous business needs into implementable technical designs; ship iteratively in agile environments; write high-quality documentation and communicate clearly to diverse audiences.






Data Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $114,400 - CAD $203,900 per year.
