Position Summary
We are seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and scale data systems that fuel insights and innovation across our platform. This role combines expertise in data engineering, ensuring robust, reliable data pipelines and architecture, with data analytics capabilities to extract actionable insights and support business intelligence initiatives. You will collaborate with product, development, and business teams to enable smarter decision-making and unlock new opportunities for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Continuously collaborate with the Development team to design and enhance scalable data infrastructure and pipelines.
Develop conceptual and logical data models to support enterprise data marts and analytics initiatives.
Build and maintain robust ETL processes and data warehouses optimized for reporting and business intelligence.
Define and track KPIs, creating reports and dashboards that inform strategic decisions.
Conduct ad-hoc reports and data requests across business units to support analysis of portfolio assessments.
Apply data migration techniques to convert data from various legacy systems to the current platform.
Prepare, cleanse, and transform data for statistical analysis and reporting.
Use problem-solving skills to troubleshoot, validate, and resolve data issues.
Deliver insights through interactive dashboards and visualizations using business intelligence reporting tools, with preference given to Power BI.
Identify and resolve data inconsistencies, ensuring data integrity across systems.
Stay up to date with emerging data technologies to continuously improve architecture and analytics capabilities.
Use and learn all organizational technology systems as defined by Modular Solutions Inc.
Perform other duties as required or requested to support data-driven initiatives.
Required Qualifications
A degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in data engineering, data analytics, or related fields.
Advanced knowledge of SQL languages such as T-SQL, Postgres SQL, and SnowSQL.
Experience using Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, and database management tools
Basic understanding of cloud-hosted services such Azure SQL Database, Postgres, and Snowflake.
Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL procedures (extract, transform, load).
Proven success in data migrations, ensuring data integrity and minimal disruption.
Experience developing interactive reports and dashboards in Power BI (or equivalent BI tools).
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite for documentation and presentation.
High level of attention to detail with strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills.
Ability to follow directions while also taking initiative to drive projects forward.
Creativity, resourcefulness, and problem-solving ability in dynamic environments.
