How your role will add to the story:

We are looking for a Data Compliance Specialist. You will be responsible for the coordinating the implementation and maintenance of an effective Data Compliance Management System in accordance with Mercedes-Benz Group requirements and local laws and regulations. You will also provide communications, guidance and local consultation regarding Data Compliance and Integrity obligations. You will report directly to the Compliance Officer, and will also have the opportunity to work with all business units at MB Canada, especially with Legal and IT Teams.

A day in the life

  • Consult and support the departments on information obligations, deletion concepts and other Data Protection topics.
  • Consult and assist all teams dealing with customer data and ensuring the data is handling according to Company's our privacy policy and Canadian Legislation, incl. Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation
  • Monitor, facilitate and report on integrity, Data Compliance and remediation activities, as applicable, aggregate and analyze compliance issues and trends, and provide entity summary to local Management and Compliance officer
  • Establish employee awareness of data protection topics through communication and trainings.
  • Manage the external Privacy email-ID and deal with complaints and requests of data subjects.
  • Prepare local instructions and support the Compliance Officer in other Compliance fields, such as Anti-Corruption or Sanctions Compliance.
  • Monitoring of new data (protection) laws and regulations and identification of local implementation needs

Qualifications

Mercedes-Benz Star skills, requirements & traits:
  • Advanced degree in management/law/IT or similar
  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in similar role
  • Knowledge and experience in Compliance, Legal, Internal Audit, Accounting, IT Security or similar with focus on international and local Data Protection laws
  • Experience in Data Compliance fields, counseling of international enterprises
  • Professional qualification on Data Compliance/Protection is a plus
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Bold, innovative and enjoy challenging yourself
