Company Overview



Prime Network Service & Consulting Inc. is a growing company in the telecommunications industry currently seeking to expand operations. The company currently provides inside and outside plant services to well known telecommunications providers.

Position



Data Centre Technician/Network Technician



Duties & Responsibilities



- Installation of data center and networking equipment: unpacking, rack mounting of equipment.

- Rack & cabinet installation, removals and/or prepping of existing racks & cabinets to accommodate new equipment and cables.

- Cabling installations including: placement, connector installation, connectivity testing of signal cabling E.G. RG59 Coax and Cat6.

- Installation, connection to devices, testing of telecom fibre.

- Use test equipment to set signals to appropriate levels.

- Participate in the planning and implementation of objectives in accordance with desired goals and outcomes amongst team members.

- Work in unison with various parties internal & external to provide timely delivery of project delivery dates and maintain committed service levels.

- Update project status trackers or project manager with detailed changes to on-going projects.

- Operate a G class license with access to a motor vehicle to report to site or carpools.

- Occasional maintenance window cutover shifts for service activation (00:00 to 08:30)

- (Optional): Install, terminate and energize DC power circuits.

Skills:



- Detail-oriented with problem solving and analytical skills, troubleshooting.

- Solution first thinker.

- Take directions from senior co-workers to assist in the completion of the daily set objectives.

- The ability to complete manual labour activities in a safe and effective manner.

- Time management.

- Microsoft Office skills, particularly with Excel, Word.

- Multi-tasking ability; adaptable to changing priorities and deadlines.

- Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and resolve problems independently; monitors own quality of work.

Schedule:



Monday to Friday (Some weekend overtime optional)

Education/Experience:



- Post Secondary Degree/Diploma or associated experience.

- Knowledge of data centers, equipment, architecture.

- (Optional) Knowledge of electrical power, power distribution.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 44 per week
