Data Centre Technician (Infrastructure)



Location:

On-site -Ontario / Montreal

Lexia Communications Inc. is looking for a

skilled and driven Data Centre Technician

to join our infrastructure deployment team. In this role you will play a key part in building, expanding, and optimizing data center environments to support mission-critical operations. If you enjoy being hands-on, delivering high-quality infrastructure projects, and working in dynamic technical environments, this opportunity is for you.

Key Responsibilities



Execute

infrastructure build projects

including rack and stack, structured cabling, and fiber optic deployments. Install, terminate, and certify structured cabling systems (Cat6, single & multimode fiber). Support

large-scale deployments

of servers, network equipment, and power systems. Ensure all installations meet

industry standards

(TIA, EIA, NEC, BICSI). Work closely with project managers and engineering teams to deliver on project milestones. Document all cabling, power, and equipment layouts with precision for future reference. Conduct site surveys, equipment staging, and pre-installation assessments. Assist with infrastructure upgrades, expansions, and decommissioning activities. Maintain safety compliance and follow best practices during all project phases.

Requirements & Qualifications



3-5 years of experience in

Data center infrastructure or structured cabling projects

. Strong knowledge of

structured cabling standards

(TIA/EIA, NEC, BICSI). Proven experience with

fiber and copper installation, termination, and testing

. Familiarity with racks, PDUs, UPS systems, and power distribution setups. Ability to read and follow technical diagrams, floor plans, and project specifications. Certifications such as

BICSI Installer, Fiber Optic Certification, or DC infrastructure

are an asset. Strong teamwork and communication skills in project-driven environments. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in physically demanding environments, and travel to project sites if required.
