The Opportunity:

This is Not a Virtual Role, Candidate has to travel to our Chandler, AZ Datacenter. The Senior Cloud Systems Engineer will be a key member of the System Operations team supporting multiple product infrastructures in our data centers, private cloud, and public cloud. You will be integral in providing agility, stability, uptime, and service for production operations, software development, and product teams. System Engineers underpin the service management lifecycle for all our products by adopting the ITIL framework and using it as a source of best practices. Not only will you support a large production environment, but you will also be exposed to cutting-edge technologies, work on high-value projects and have a real opportunity to influence the direction of a highly successful public company.
You Are Great AT:

Your First Six Months:

  • Meet your peers in System Operations and gain a firm understanding of what we do and our interdependencies on each other, review their goals, and how we collectively contribute to the success of the organization and the company.
  • Get familiar with all the different tools we use in Operations, Solarwinds, Zabbix, VMware, Hyper-V, AWS, Azure, GCP, Windows OS, Linux OS, Jira, and Service Management. Ansible, Qualys, Etc.
  • Work with Operations peers to understand tools used by System Operations to support our products and development environments.
  • Become intimately familiar with an operational processes like patch management, server deployments, and release through the new Host Readiness review (NHRR), Security remediation process, etc.

  • Become intimately familiar with and take on the appropriate ownership of your part in the System Operations initiatives currently in flight.
  • Adhere to change, access control, and GDPR policies.
  • Learn about the products we support.
  • Establish and foster trust with your team members, peers, and stakeholders through demonstrated ownership and accountability for your operational responsibilities.
  • Learn how we use Kanban and prioritize our workflow.
  • Follow defined ITIL processes and company policies.
  • Resolve request fulfillment tickets.
  • Manage incidents and own them through resolution.
  • Resolve system problems.
  • Become familiar with capacity and performance management dashboards and tools and our event and alert notification systems.
  • Provide tier 2 support.
  • Join the on-call rotation.
Six to Twelve Months and Beyond:
  • Be able to provision Servers and storage to multiple product and cloud environments.
  • Document known errors and be creating runbooks and procedures.
  • Demonstrate knowledge management best practices by improving incident resolution times and measuring your success.
  • Become a subject matter expert.
  • Work on Security remediation through Windows Group policies and/or Linux scripts.

  • Act as backup for other team members when necessary.

What it takes:
  • Windows Server 2012/2016/2019 deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting experience.
  • Red Hat Linux v6.x/7.x and up deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting experience.
  • Perform security vulnerability remediation either by Active Directory Group policy and/or scripts including patch management process.
  • Administration and automation experience with event and alert notification monitoring tools (SolarWinds/Zabbix/Icinga/PagerDuty).
o Note: Zabbix experience is highly desirable
  • Experience working with enterprise networking and topologies, information security, VMware, Hyper-V, and hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Plan for validation and verification of changes deployed by infrastructure teams, and development teams.
  • Take ownership and accountability for the incident resolution process, participating in RCA and SWAT investigations.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL principles, certification is a plus.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical ability.
  • Excellent organizational/time management skills.
  • A proven record of being able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Active Directory management across multiple domains, countries, and environments.

Optional (2+ Years):
  • Operating experience with enterprise-class SAN systems (HPE 3par, HPE Nimble) and NAS systems (NetApp, Dell/EMC Isilon).
  • Provisioning and maintaining compute including Firmware and BIOS upgrades processes, Drives and other parts replacements process.
o Dell/EMC M1000 blade and HPE C7000 blade systems
o Dell/EMC PowerEdge C6420 quad servers
o Dell/EMC ME4084 and Dell/EMC ME5084
o Cisco Compute (Cisco UCS and Rack Mount C240)
o SMB share and user access provisioning
  • Direct attached storage with RAID and Adaptive RAID management experience.
  • PowerShell.
  • Batch scripting.
  • Working knowledge in Automation using tools like Ansible, Jenkins, Github, and AWS cloud formation.
  • Kubernetes experience/training.
  • Docker container deployment/operation experience

Estimated Base Salary for this role is 70,000 USD
