The areas of focus for the Data Center / DMZ Technology Services Lead are to support the day-to-day activities and Operations functions for the Data Center / DMZ Network (Routing and Switching). This individual will be responsible for workload management, incident/event management functions, and provides informal leadership of the global team. Additional responsibilities of this role include hands on technical and analytical ability to solve complex issues, and the ability to effectively communicate to senior management and stakeholders.

This position will interface directly with internal stakeholders and external suppliers/providers, architecture, product engineering, product management, and business management. At times, they may interface with various levels of senior management. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are a must. The candidate must be able to work on their own and successfully in team settings in various sizes and locations. Adherence and use of standards, product sets, templates, systems, and artifacts are important to the success of the individual, the department, and the firm at large. The Data Center / DMZ Technology Services Lead will be considered a subject matter expert in their field and is expected to stay current with various technologies, organizational goals, and industry trends to drive end to end value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and prioritize multiple tasks and assignments for the team
  • Track tasks and tickets in system(s) of record and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met
  • Create on call rotation schedule and ensure support for off hours/weekends/release windows.
  • Participate in incident/problem/change review meetings and release activities as applicable
  • Provide point of escalation for the team members, and applicable peer and partner teams
  • Provide leadership Point of Contact (POC) for high priority incidents or consulting engagement
  • Participate and help with resource interview and onboarding processes
  • Work with appropriate teams to ensure alerts, monitoring, dashboards, and processes are established appropriately
  • Perform access reviews and compliance activities, act as delegate for administrative processes
  • Work with senior team members to validate impacts and communicate to all stakeholder's technical status updates
  • Promote and enforce production governance during triage/testing and fix efforts, exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
Required Skills
  • Experience leading a technology operations team
  • Direct experience with Network Services including in-depth understanding of strategic and tactical components
  • Experience with leading teams through troubleshooting of complex network issues
  • Demonstrates ownership: Is accountable and can hold others accountable (professionally)
  • Self-starter/self-directed, organized and detail oriented
  • Strong technical acumen and analytical skills
  • Excellent client interfacing skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with all levels of management
  • Experience aligning actions to business impact and service restoral
  • Experience with Network technologies
  • Routing & Switching, Firewalls, LAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, NAC, QoS, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, Multicast, NHRP, IPv4, IPv6, MPLS, ACL, VPN
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Agile framework & SCRUM ceremonies
  • Experience using (both proactive and reactive) advanced tooling; Inclusive of but not limited to NetScout, Wireshark, Splunk, SevOne, HPNA, NNMI, OBM, IBM Watson, NSO, etc.
  • General experience in Network Automation tools and processes
  • Experience operating with colleagues across different time zones with a flexible approach to working hours (ability to work varied hours) to successfully interact and communicate on a global level

  • Experience with SDWAN, preferred if on Cloudgenix
  • Experience with automation tools such as Python, Ansible, YAML or Django, API calls (to ticketing systems and network devices), and frontend web development
  • Experience of working within Financial Services (Insurance, Banking, Investment banking)
  • Experience with other network technologies o WAN, MAN, LAN, Optical, Routing, Switching, Firewall, Proxy/Threat Prevention, DDI, Load Balancing, and AAA
