This position would be a part of our Data Strategy and Engineering team to architect large scale data driven engagements and provide direction as the subject matter expert on Azure Data Lake and SQL Server Data architecture.

The Data Architect will orchestrate the development of architectural standards, patterns, and frameworks at goeasy. This primarily consists of both Azure cloud and On-Prem Data Warehouse environments, including but not limited to migration of legacy platforms to Cloud Infrastructure.

This is a \xe2\x80\x9chands-on\xe2\x80\x9d position requiring solid technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Azure Data Lake Design: Design and implement the data architecture for Azure Data Lake, including data storage, data organization, and access control.
• Data Lake Security and Governance: Implement security measures and access controls to ensure data stored in Azure Data Lake is protected and compliant with data governance regulations.
• Data Integration with Azure Data Factory: Design and develop data integration workflows using Azure Data Factory to move, transform, and load data from various sources into Azure Data Lake and other data destinations.
• Data Orchestration: Create data orchestration pipelines in Azure Data Factory to schedule, monitor, and manage data integration processes efficiently.
• Data Transformation and Preparation: Develop data transformation and preparation processes to clean, enrich, and harmonize data in Azure Data Lake, making it ready for analytical and reporting purposes.
• Data Cataloging and Metadata Management: Implement data cataloging and metadata management practices to ensure data assets are properly documented and easily discoverable.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance of Azure Data Lake and Azure Data Factory pipelines, identifying and resolving bottlenecks and performance issues.
• Data Security and Compliance: Ensure that data movement and processing within Azure Data Factory and SQL Server databases adhere to security best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Cloud Cost Management: Optimize data storage and data processing costs in Azure by implementing cost-effective solutions and monitoring resource usage.
• Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Implement data backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data availability and business continuity.
• Database Design and Modeling: Design and develop the logical and physical data models for SQL Server databases, ensuring data integrity, normalization, and optimal performance.
• Database Upgrades and Migrations: Provide guidance to DBA on migration of databases to newer versions of SQL Server or other platforms.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, and business analysts, BI, to understand their data integration needs and provide data solutions accordingly.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Data Architect or Data Engineer with hands-on experience in designing and implementing data solutions on Azure Data Lake and Azure Data Factory
• Strong understanding of Azure cloud services and data architecture principles.
• Proficiency in data integration and ETL concepts and practical experience with Azure Data Factory.
• Knowledge of data storage and processing technologies in Azure, including Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Lake Analytics, and Azure Synapse Analytics and legacy SQL Data Warehouse.
• Experience in migration projects from On Prem to Azure Cloud Services (Data Lake/Synapse).
• Experience with data transformation and data preparation tools and techniques.
• Knowledge of data security and compliance practices in the Azure cloud environment.
• Familiarity with data cataloging and metadata management tools and practices.
• Azure certifications related to data and analytics (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate) are a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of SQL Server database design, implementation, and administration.
• Proficiency in SQL programming, T-SQL, and stored procedures.
• Familiarity with data warehousing and business intelligence concepts
