Position Title: Data Architect Lead

OVERVIEW
McCain is embarking on a digital transformation. As part of this transformation, we are making significant investments into our data systems, structures and policies, and building digital products for our customers, key suppliers and McCain team members to enable digital processes and data-driven automation over time.

Our Technology team\'s goal is to inspire growth through innovative technology experiences. Our digital teams are key to deliver this ambition. McCain has established digital teams in Agriculture and Commercial and we are now looking forward to expanding our investments in Operations.

PURPOSE
Working closely with the Digital Manufacturing Product Owners, the Data Engineers, the Technical Lead, and other key stakeholders, the Data Architect defines the overall data needs & owns the architecture to support use case development. The Data Architect is also responsible to design the analytics data model and ensures processes for continuous data availability and quality. Working through our Lighthouse site in Florenceville, New Brunswick, the Data Architect will ensure that the data design is scalable across McCain\'s global network.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Responsible for supporting the end-to-end data journey for McCain Florenceville and execution, including:
• Planning and defining requirements on what data is needed
• Shared responsibility of how that data is actually created (e.g., sensors creating data)
• Developing a clear path to acquire/capture the data
• Maintaining the data in relevant DBs
• Enabling the usage and supporting data-powered use cases
• Monitoring usage of the data
• Having a clear data retrieval, archiving and purging strategy

• Own and deliver Digital Manufacturing data architecture in alignment with technology partner organizations, IT, Solution and Enterprise Architecture
• Define the overall data needs and design, schema, refresh rate etc. to ensure the quality data availability to support AA/AI use cases
• Own data architecture funding/capital application roadmap
• Establish data architecture competency/capabilities for the Lighthouse site
• Define, align and maintain data architecture policies, guidelines, standards and governance working collaboratively with program governance, Continuous

Improvement, plant leadership, technical lead, etc.

• Own, advocate and deliver Digital Manufacturing Data architecture design in alignment with overall McCain & Continuous Improvement Data Strategy,

Enterprise standards and governance

• Align Digital Manufacturing Data Architecture with overall Continuous Improvement program objectives
• Establish relationships with POs and plant stakeholders to become trusted advisor
• Develop, communicate and deliver roadmap in cooperation with Technical Lead
• Ensure compliance with risk policies with Risk, Cybersecurity

IDEAL EXPERIENCE AND SKILLSI

• 8-10 years of experience working with a focus in Data Architecture, evidence of progressive roles
• Good business acumen, understands how to drive value through the use of technology and data
• Expertise in business data management, data warehousing and data modeling for analytics
• Familiarity with Microsoft technology strongly preferred (e.g., Azure, Synapse, PowerBI)
• Demonstrated experience and interest in using innovative technology
• Experience in Operations environment strongly preferred: e.g., manufacturing, supply chain
• Understanding of Continuous Improvement programs (e.g., Lean) strongly preferred
• Willingness to travel to Florenceville, New Brunswick (25-30%)
• Experienced and can speak with credibility on data science and architecture topics

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Strong communication skills: is able to effectively and persuasively communicate to various audiences including senior-level management

EDUCATION

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
