The Customer Insights, Data, and Analytics team at Scotiabank is focused on building high-value projects to enhance data-driven decisions across the bank. Our team consists of accomplished professionals who blend expertise in computer science, data, machine learning, and UI to deliver innovative solutions that drive the business.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Work with business teams across Global Banking and Markets (GBM) and Group Treasury (GT) to understand their data-driven goals
• Deliver data insights and analytics directly to management and other key front office decision-makers
• Collaborate with data scientists to build data assets forming the foundation of AI/ML-based predictive models
• Be the subject matter expert on data driven processes, visualization workflows, and tools with which to analyze data
• Mine data assets and discover impactful stories
• Experiment & learn!

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor or graduate degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or related field or relevant experience
• Experience with or interest in Banking/Finance/Capital Markets is an asset
• Advanced programming skills in Python, Scala, R, and /or Java required. Experience with Spark is an asset
• Comfortable working in database environments. Experience with PostgreSQL, HDFS/Hive, MinIO is an asset
• Experience with visualization tools an asset: Power BI/Tableau
• Exposure to Kubernetes, Airflow, Jenkins is an asset
• High performance, pragmatic, detail-oriented
