About our Team

Our team is responsible for both commercial projects and strategic collaborations in the area of research evaluation. We deliver bespoke solutions to the market, helping our clients assess and evaluate research. Our contacts and end users of our reports and services are often high-level executives in academic and funding organizations.

About the Role

As a Research Analyst you will be a part of a global team of data analysts and data scientists. We provide consultative services to provide meaningful insights into the questions that our clients have. This includes contributing to the discussion on the role of research in solving grand challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute analyses and insights to research performance assessments for internal stakeholders on time, in scope and with desired quality.
  • Able to apply data blending techniques, hygiene checks, implement data quality precautions, and use analytics techniques to prepare data for analysis
  • Able to communicate and present complex issues by writing simple and sophisticated insights and creating clear and insightful visual displays of data through selected tools and analytical packages.
  • Domain/Industry Skills- Understands complex features within discipline, industry, and activity.
  • Able to understand the needs of internal stakeholders and clients to make suggestions for analyses and metrics to drive insights and recommendations.
  • Team spirit and commitment to professional development.
  • Creativity and a proactive and action-oriented approach.
  • Data modelling - able to understand and apply statistical analysis
Requirements
  • Data analyst experience with good problem-solving skills to deliver actionable insights through the analytics.
  • Have experience of consulting with stakeholders to understand their needs, propose meaningful insights, and deliver in time, scope and quality.
  • Ability to be self-motivated and multi-task when necessary
  • Desire to continually learn new things and share knowledge with the team
  • Contextual understanding of science, technology and innovation, and interest in scientific policy and research funding
  • Experience with Analytics tools like Excel (pivot tables) is essential; experience with Tableau, R and other data visualization software's are a plus
  • Have experience in the world of research and understanding of how researchers work is a plus
  • Have worked with data extraction and modelling using SQL, Python or other programming languages a clear plus
