Job Description




We are looking for a Data Analyst

Responsible for aggregating data from multiple sources and turning it into insightful, actionable reporting. Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Data, FreeX, this role will be responsible for supporting all of the data management, analysis and reporting needs of Freedom Experience (FreeX). The Data Analyst will use their skills to provide FreeX teams with; forecasts, ongoing key performance indicator (KPI) monitoring, reporting, analysis and insights, financial modelling of emerging business opportunities, capacity planning, as well as process improvements benefits realization.

The role\xe2\x80\x99s challenges lie primarily in the breadth of its accountabilities, requiring significant agility, a nose for inconsistencies, and the ability to go beyond the analysis of data to arrive at true business insight. The role will support the data & analysis needs of all areas of FreeX (sales, service, strategy and business development) and therefore must possess in-depth knowledge of FreeX\xe2\x80\x99s data needs; and will work collaboratively to support the design, development, and maintenance of FreeX\xe2\x80\x99s Customer Relationship Management tools to ensure customer and KPI data is captured and analyzed appropriately.

The main goal of the Freedom Experience teams is to put the customer at the center of everything we do with high-quality products, best-in-class financial planning advice, and personalized responsive service for our members. The Data Analyst contributes to achieving this goal by:

  • Turning large data sets into relevant, actionable reporting that is easy to consume
  • Designing and creating visual reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Hypothesizing and analyzing data to gain insights on past and future customer trends
  • Designing and maintaining staff resource models and forecasts
  • Maintaining key performance metrics on all areas of FreeX
  • Participate in system implementation projects to ensure FreeX data and reporting requirements are met
Performance Management
  • Provide data analysis and management reporting, including delivery of commentaries and executive summaries to support leaders\xe2\x80\x99 decisions, provide impacts and quantifications of prospective or potential decisions
  • Build, implement and maintain data models
  • Support the development of business cases to provide cost/benefit analysis on opportunities impacting FreeX
  • Work with large data-sets that are not consistent, clean or fully modelled
  • Draw reliable and timely financial and non-financial data and information together from a wide range of sources and provide thorough analysis, insights and options to enable the Leadership team to make sound business decisions. Ensure single source of truth
  • Design and deliver ad hoc performance reporting and analytics for a range of business requirements
  • Lead projects and play a key role in FreeX technology rollouts \xe2\x80\x93 coordinate with multidisciplinary functions on projects that have high system/tech dependencies, as well as represent FreeX on larger GC data projects Assist with data mining and modelling
  • Support the organization\xe2\x80\x99s mission to optimize use of the Connected Data Platform by building strong partnerships with our data partners; identify opportunities to ingest data, prioritize data needs, and utilize the Connected Data Platform to drive efficiencies in system builds and reporting functions
  • Support existing data owners in their data management practices ensuring single source of truth.
What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Need to be Successful
  • Advanced skills in Data Visualization tools such as Tableau or MS Power BI
  • University degree in Computer Science or Statistics preferred
  • 4+ years experience in data management / performance analysis
  • Advance knowledge of Excel, SQL to perform complex data analysis
  • Proficiency in Databricks, Connected Data Platform
  • Experience with Python as an asset
  • A track record of facilitating cooperation, working in partnership with internal and external teams and working collaboratively with teams across the organization
  • Innovative and visionary thinking; willingness to bring new concepts or approaches to our environment
  • Driven to improve - the organization, processes, service performance, efficiency, etc
  • Motivated to develop skills to meet strategic direction and tomorrow\xe2\x80\x99s needs

  • Understanding of employee benefits market and its dynamics
  • Excellent data and business analysis skills \xe2\x80\x93 ability to conduct detailed analysis, define KPIs, provide business logic and calculations, meet reporting requirements, etc
  • Highly developed analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to bring together diverse data and information and form sound judgments and insights
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365, the Power tools and data analytics platforms
  • Provides timely and full information so others can do their job effectively and feel connected to the organization\xe2\x80\x99s broader goals
