Your Job

We are looking to hire multiple detail-oriented, technically-minded people to join the Data Analysis team at DarkVision. No experience in this type of role is necessary, as the focus is on attitude and aptitude versus specific experience in a similar position. Our comprehensive training covers all the skills you need to thrive in the role, including the basics of oil & gas operations. We\'re looking for someone perceptive, keen, and highly detail-oriented regarding data deliverables to help meet the growing demand for DarkVision\'s products and services.

The successful candidates will work collaboratively with their teammates to analyze our high-resolution ultrasound scans of oil and gas wells. They will use the results to create actionable reports, 3D images, detailed models, and quantifiable data to help our clients make informed decisions on the safe and efficient operations of their multi-million-dollar operating assets.

As our scope increases, there are many opportunities for growth and development within the team. We aim to find a fit that aligns your developmental goals, existing skills, and innate strengths, while addressing the needs of our team.

We require some analysts who are open to regularly working outside office hours. Willingness to work odd hours is considered an asset though not required.

Our Team

DarkVision\'s acoustic imaging technology captures terabytes of high-fidelity data with each run. Our data analysis team plays a critical role in the commercial process by analyzing these massive ultrasound datasets using our proprietary visualization software. They are meticulous, methodical, and thorough in providing customers with critical insights that lead to multi-million-dollar actions.

What You Will Do

  • Inspect ultrasound data using our proprietary software to locate features and defects
  • Follow detailed processes for preparing datasets and completing analysis
  • Measure and assess features in the data, assisted by machine learning / AI-generated results
  • Generate detailed spreadsheets and plots using MATLAB
  • Generate and edit reports
  • Generate images, videos, and 3D renders
  • Review and aggregate information from client documents
  • Assist in improving workflows and documentation
  • Learn and master new types of analysis as DarkVision increases its product offerings
Work Arrangement / Hours:
  • This is a fully on-site position; 100% availability to work in our North Van office is required
  • There is a need to work irregular hours (evenings or weekends) from time to time to meet customer demands; customer jobs can arise at any time, and they often need answers as quickly as possible
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Must be able to work on-site in our North Vancouver office 100% of the time
  • No relocation support is offered for this position
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma (preferably in a STEM field)
  • Experience in a professional work environment (e.g. full-time or part-time work, co-op, internship)
  • Attention to detail - must be meticulous
  • Interpersonal skills - able to listen and communicate respectfully and effectively
  • Work well collaboratively; most projects will be shared among a group of Analysts
  • Fast learner - able to adapt to evolving processes and guidelines
  • Able to follow detailed procedures and meet high standards for quality and consistency
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Able to work irregular (evenings or weekends) hours as required from time to time
  • Data analysis and/or visualization experience
  • MATLAB experience
  • Blender or MeshLab experience
  • Image processing experience
  • Experience with 3D data
