About the Role:




Reporting to the Manager, Data Governance and Engineering, the

Data Analyst

(8 Month Contract) will be responsible for building and maintaining reliable data pipelines, writing and optimizing SQL queries, and preparing clean, structured data sets for use across retail operations. Knowledge of Python for automation and scripting is a plus.

Responsibilities:



Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from various data sources. Build and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes to support regular data ingestion and processing. Perform data cleansing, validation, and reconciliation across data sources to ensure consistency and accuracy. Work closely with operations teams to integrate new data sources and automate recurring data tasks. Document all data sources, transformation logic, business rules, and workflows in a clear and standardized format. Monitor data quality and integrity across systems and reports and troubleshoot discrepancies or errors.

Who we're looking for:



2-3 years of working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst Technical knowledge of data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques Strong knowledge of and experience with databases (SQL, PostgreSQL) and Excel formulas and macros Knowledge of programming (python or R) or ETL tools (Alteryx or Knime) is an asset. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organizational, written & verbal communication skills Confidence and ability to work in a highly visible, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision, capable of delivering quality results with high expectations of workload output Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics an asset
