One of our major Banking clients is looking for a Data Analyst (Bank, MDM, CM, Governance, Datmeer)
Length: 6 Months contract with the possibility of extension or full time.
Location: Toronto, ON - Hybrid (1-2 days/week in the office)

Requirements:
OVERVIEW:
The Client Master Data Management & Governance team is responsible for driving the Capital Markets (CM) client reference data strategy, providing master data management services, delivering client data architecture, and managing the data governance framework.

Reporting to the VP - Data Analytics, the Analyst ensures client reference data is managed, accurate, complete, fit for purpose, and meets the requirements of business consumers.
This role will:
Be responsible for providing data analysis and facilitating data remediation of master records.
Support the development and implementation of data governance policies, processes, and controls
Be involved in creating and maintaining automated reporting and data visualizations

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The role involves data mastering, data quality management, and matching/merging of entity instances
Conduct data analysis of client reference data from multiple internal Banks\' platforms
Investigate and resolve data exceptions
Maintains business and technical metadata and maintains system and process documentation
Provide subject matter expertise in data analytics and the client data domain to support data management operations, Client Services initiatives, and reference data business consumers
Support data enrichment project, combining data from multiple internal Banks\' systems to create records that are fit for purpose, and validating the accuracy of the results
Execute data quality management processes to ensure client reference data meets the data quality dimensions of completeness, uniqueness, timeliness, validity, and accuracy
Participate in data management governance processes including assessing impact of changes to technology on process, procedures, AXON, IDQ, and roles/responsibilities matrix
Update user guides for Data Analytics systems
Measures client reference data for accuracy, completeness, and fitness for purpose so that business, analytics, and reporting needs can be met
Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE:
Completion of an applicable university degree and/or relevant professional designation is required
3+ years of data management experience in a similar role within the financial services industry (Data Analysis, Data Quality Management, Reference & Master Data management)
Demonstrated experience with data management operational practices (entity matching, data mastering, data enrichment, and exception management)
Experience with data governance (business and technical metadata, process documentation)
Knowledge of Capital Markets data domains - client reference, account, legal hierarchy, trading products
Knowledge of client lifecycle management, credit, trading and settlement platforms is preferred
Project experience delivering components of complex projects

SKILLS:
Data Analysis skills - proven ability to understand and resolve data issues and exceptions
Familiarity with Data governance concepts and best practices.
Excellent attention to detail - ability to review, assess, and communicate findings
Technical skills to analyze and manipulate data sets
o Advanced Excel skills - pivot tables, vlookup, fuzzy matching
o Intermediate SQL skills- Advanced joins, subqueries, aggregate and group by, partition by
Experience with analyzing and manipulating data sets using data analytics tools and technologies such as Datameer, Dataiku, DbVisualizer, Aginity Workbench (Coginiti), or others is required
Experience with metadata repositories and AWS, Databrew, RDS, and Informatica (Axon, Analyst, Developer)
Experience using Power Bi or other visualization tools
Communication skills - proficient written and verbal
Organizational/time management skills to independently manage multiple priorities and to proactively service multiple internal clients in a fast-paced environment
Strong troubleshooting, analysis, and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with colleagues across business lines

Analyzing data sets using: Datameer, Dataiku, DbVisualizer, Aginity Workbench (Coginiti), or others is required
