Position Overview
We are seeking an energetic, and compassionate
Dance Teacher
to join our team for the
2025-2026 season
. This role focuses on teaching our youngest students (ages 2-6) in a variety of dance genres, including
ballet, tap, jazz, acro, and hip hop
. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about working with children, passionate about dance education, and committed to creating a positive, engaging classroom experience. This position may be combined with our
After-School Performing Arts Program
(ages 5-12).
Responsibilities
Teach engaging and age-appropriate classes in ballet, tap, jazz, acro, and hip hop for ages 2-6.
Create a supportive and encouraging classroom environment where students feel safe to explore and grow.
Prepare students for in-studio presentations and year-end showcases.
Communicate effectively with parents and staff to support student progress and well-being.
Collaborate with the teaching team to uphold Limelight's vision and standards.
Provide guidance, encouragement, and patience to help students build confidence and a love of dance.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience teaching young children (ages 2-6) in multiple dance styles.
Strong background in
ballet, tap, jazz, acro, and hip hop
.
Compassionate, caring, and patient with excellent classroom management skills.
Ability to inspire and motivate students while keeping classes fun and structured.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred:
CPR/First Aid certification,
Valid criminal record check.
Position Details
Contract:
September 2025 - June 2026
Hours Available:
Monday-Friday 3:00-5:30 PM, plus Saturday & Sunday mornings.
Pay:
$20-$30 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
Growth Opportunities:
