Job Description

Lactalis is one of Canada's leading producers of premium quality food products including milk, cheese, and yogurt. We are currently recruiting for a Damrow Operator to join our processing department in our production facility in Winchester, Ontario which produces butter, cheese, powder, and margarine.

Position: Damrow Operator - Relief

Shift: 12 hour

Duties & Responsibilities Include:

- Follow safety procedures and work in a safe manner (LOTO, PPE, Guarding, etc...)

- Operation of Damrow Dryer and process within established operating procedures.

- Compliance to Lactalis quality measurement and documentation requirements (PQMS/HACCP).

- Responsible for effectively cleaning the Damrow Dryer and processing equipment within established procedures.

- Conducting cleaning chemical concentration measurements and taking corrective action to meet specifications. Accurate records of chemical concentration test results maintained.

- Responsible for product meeting quality specifications i.e. moisture, sediment, granulation, and visual appearance.

- Conduct sanitary preventative maintenance on dryer and process.

- Adherence to all Personal Protective Equipment requirements and maintaining a safe work environment.

- Responsible for transferring condense liquid.

- Perform confined space activity: entrant, attendant and rescue training required.

- Other duties as assigned.

Key Attributes of the Ideal Candidate:

Completion of secondary school (OSSD or equivalent) Ability to quickly identify and take action in a safe manner Ability to safely lift up to 50lbs Ability to stand for long periods of time including bending, twisting and walking Previous experience in manufacturing, particularly in food industry, is an asset Must be available to workdays, nights and weekends
