About Our Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Cyber Security and Risk Management, as the Senior Cyber Risk Architect (Computer Services Officer 4), you will provide cybersecurity analytical expertise and advisory leadership to CSDS, their business partners in the government and health sector, and the external vendor community.

Working in close collaborations with our business partners, you will develop and guide the implementation of cybersecurity best practices for the digital services of government. You will be responsible for educating and informing all digital service providing functions of their cybersecurity responsibilities in all phases and methods of service delivery.

The Cyber Risk Architect will both lead and participate in multi-disciplined government and health teams with specific accountability for scope, communications, and control procedures. The Cyber Risk Architect provides expert advice, coaching and mentoring on up-to-date cyber risk management methodologies and tools to team members and to those stakeholders within the Cybersecurity community.

In addition, you will create and deliver cybersecurity business process diagrams, advise on the cybersecurity responsibilities of functions noted within the architectures of the digital services, create cyber security documentation, and assist in reporting on organizational cyber security key performance indicators.

Primary Accountabilities

In this role, you will be accountable for:

  • Defining and communicating cyber security and risk management requirements for digital services.
  • Planning, managing, and participating in complex shared services projects from initiation to implementation to support the priorities of government.
  • Provide coaching to support cyber security risk management practitioners, business partners, the vendor community and government and health staff.
  • Providing business analyst services both within and across government departments and to our health authority partners.
  • Acting as an internal consultant to government and as such receives assignments from a broad range of professionals.
  • Participating in government committees as required providing information on cyber security risk management business requirements.
  • Leading projects and multi-disciplined teams of both internal and external subject matter experts.
  • Providing expert advice, coaching and mentoring on up-to-date cyber security risk management methodologies and tools to team members, CSDS program areas, shared services business partners, and the broader risk management business community within government.
  • Demonstrate the ability and agility to achieve results in an often-fast changing environment by meeting projects deadlines and outcomes.
  • Develop an effective rapport and working relationships with both technology & information community within CSDS and their business partners.
  • Translating the business impacts of cybersecurity risk to a range of stakeholders in multiple digital service providing areas which assists in the understanding of cybersecurity risk to business partners.
Qualifications and Experience

As the successful candidate, you will have a bachelor\'s degree in computer science plus five (5) years of progressively responsible cyber risk management program delivery and project management experience; or graduation from a recognized Information Technology program with five (5) years and six (6) month\'s progressive experience in cyber risk management program delivery and project management; or an acceptable combination of training and experience.

In addition, you have experience with:
  • A broad knowledge of the field of cybersecurity and the functional security requirements within all service providing roles that contribute to a digital service. This includes but is not limited to, access control, awareness and training, physical and environmental protection, digital service planning, and risk assessment.
  • Ensuring cybersecurity alignment with corporate privacy and information management policies.
  • Knowledge of assessment tools and techniques such as threat risk assessments, vulnerability assessments and cybersecurity reviews and checks.
This position will have frequent contact with CSDS shared services clients and as a result must possess excellent business awareness, acumen and analytic skills; excellent communication and facilitation skills; excellent team and consensus building skills; excellent verbal and writing skills; ability to establish effective rapport with users and vendors; and excellent consulting and diplomacy skills.

The incumbent must be able to work independently with a high level of general direction only.

Knowledge of the NIST 800-53 cybersecurity standard and compliance framework will be considered an asset.

We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks

Pay Grade: PR 17

Salary Range: $3,091.70 - $3,631.17 Bi-Weekly
