Future of Engagement (FoE) is a non-profit organization with the start-up mindset and the goal of making our democracy work for all communities in Canada. FoE leverages technology and data analysis to engage marginalized and underrepresented communities in all aspects of Canada's politics.
Informing communities about political processes and services
Bring together volunteers with diverse personal and professional backgrounds to develop resources for underrepresented communities.
Develop tools that help community leaders set up strategic campaigns, mobilize supporters, and promote their agendas.
The Cyberjournalist will combine traditional journalistic skills with modern social media savvy, creating and distributing engaging content in this ever-changing digital world. Main tasks will involve using digital information distribution systems and other technologies to deliver content to the public with a focus on Canadian news and updates. The candidate will take advantage of emerging news distribution channels and community building--including short form content, twitch and livestream, podcasts, etc.--to deliver information to youth demographics who face a gap in receiving news effectively through traditional news media including print, newspapers, television, etc. This opportunity will uniquely work to spotlight voices from marginalized/racialized communities underrepresented in Canadian content through intentional and inclusive journalistic practices.
Tasks
