Position Summary:

Must be capable of performing daily cleaning tasks such as high pressuring (90\xe2\x80\x99 catch pan, deck framework & floor, welliver, belts & their catch pans), remove waste and perform CIP\xe2\x80\x99s. Capable of removing/replacing/rebuilding cutter heads. Must be able to efficiently manage waste streams, monitor line for shatter or offcuts, perform various tests to monitor line performance (minimum 3x a shift) and enter data into SPC. Must be able to provide effective communication with the team and supervision.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

• Monitor the performance of the cutting system through various tests such as tube alignment, cut quality, shattering and breakage.
• Monitor and optimize waste streams from the cutting area such as slivers, nubbins and ADR cubes.
• Change, disassemble and rebuild cutter heads as well as occasionally sharpen cutter blades.
• Monitor tuber temperatures and ensure that they are adequate in order to prevent either excessive shattering or cutter blockages.
• Operate and monitor the Welliver camera system and make adjustments as required to ensure efficient cutting throughout every shift.
• Ensure correct spare cutter heads are stored in the sleeves at the cutter deck.
• Maintain good housekeeping and sanitation practices in the cutter deck area including 5S, routinely scheduled tasks, daily HPC (High Performance Clean) and CIP (Clean in Place).
• Provide support and relief to the Starch and ADR Operators. Must be able to operate all equipment associated with defect removal including ADRs and Tegras.
• Maintains all required documentation including entering SPC data.
• Complete routinely scheduled sanitation tasks including high pressure washing, scrubbing, deep cleaning, waste disposal, and general housekeeping.
• Performing required daily tests to ensure product quality, consistency, and determine equipment effectiveness. Then recording results into the designated McCain database to drive Real Time Management and support data analysis.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Competencies)

• Must have proven history of safe work habits.
• Familiar with Infinity, Process Control, OCAP and basic computer skills.
• High School Graduate
• Experienced with the safe handling of chemicals in accordance with WHMIS.
• Must have strong communication skills, ability to follow detailed instructions, and be able to maintain good working relationships with Supervision and coworkers as well as ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work on a rotating shift basis.
• Familiarity within process control testing and entering results into the designated McCain database.

Required Length, Type of Experience & Licenses (if applicable)

• Must be willing to obtain Forklift License, Confined Space & Rescue, Personal Fall Protection and Scissor/Boom Lift (minimum height requirement 20\xe2\x80\x99)

Position is expected to be completed September 2024. At the end of the completion date, you will be displaced into a suitable role within production or you can apply to another role of your choosing.
