Reports to: Manager, Cutting & Advanced Concepts Sewing

Location: North Vancouver, BC

Your Opportunity at ARC\'TERYX: As a Cut and Press Operator, you support the team in preparing cut bundles and you assist with sample processes, enabling the on-time completion of finished, pressed components. The role brings together functions from two departments, strengthening cross-functional partnerships and team bandwidth during peak output seasons. You collaborate with both Sample Making and Cutting teams, providing consistent support in delivering accurate, quality-controlled cut goods and trims to sewing floor. You support in pressing all finished goods at the correct temperature, pressure, and you use the right tools to achieve quality samples.

This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is expected to be performed on-location.

Meet Your Future Team:

The Sample Making team supports the business in creating and evolving concepts, prototypes, and samples to support our design, development, and manufacturing process. Our team builds strong relationships with cross-functional partners across the product creation engine to realize ideas into commercialized success. \

If you were in the Cut and Press Operator role now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Prioritizing and providing cutting services to ensure all bundles are delivered to sample floor with correct fabric, notches and trims
  • Ensuring die cuts have the accurate length, quantity and correct die
  • Providing technical support for cutting issues with CNC Drilling, plasma and oxyfuel cutting machine (DRM)
  • Maintaining and organizing inventory of raw materials, trims and die cuts in cutting room
  • Communicating concerns and issues as they arise
  • Helping to confirm that all pattern pieces are accounted for during marker maker process
  • Supporting the Sewing team by sharing your skills and knowledge in pressing to accommodate ARC\'One production processes, tools and equipment
  • Carrying fabric and paper rolls to and from production locations as required
Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:
  • Upgrading your computer skill level in learning how to lay out a marker
  • Learning how to operate a Gerber cutting machine and plotter
  • Participating in deep die of materials, trims, and notion knowledge
  • Learning to troubleshoot press challenges with various lines product samples
Are you our next Cut and Press Operator?
  • You have a post-secondary education, or the equivalent factory development experience
  • You have proven skills in problem solving, production innovation, and the ability to interpret design and offer alternative solutions
  • You have strong technical and computer skills, able to easily learn and navigate various design applications/software
  • You have reliable time management skills, and you possess the ability to prioritize completing tasks on time, with the required quality and care
  • You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • You are comfortable using a computer
  • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
  • You seek the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment to do what is right
  • You are comfortable sometimes lifting up to 40lbs, routinely lifting 20lb items
