The Master Group is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Customs Compliance Specialist to ensure our import activities comply with Canadian customs regulations and international trade laws. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of customs procedures, tariff classifications - to include Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System (HS) - and trade agreements.
What you will accomplish with us:
Ensure compliance with CBSA regulations, CARM, and other applicable trade laws.
Classify goods using HS codes and determine applicable duties and taxes.
Prepare and review customs documentation (B3, B2, NAFTA/CUSMA certificates, etc.).
Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies.
Maintain accurate records of import/export transactions and compliance audits.
Monitor regulatory changes and update internal procedures accordingly.
Support internal audits and investigations related to customs compliance.
Advise internal teams on customs compliance best practices.
What You Bring to Our Team:
Bilingualism (French / English) - Need to interact regularly with our internal and/or external Master Group collaborators across the country. After evaluation, it has been determined that no other solution can meet these professional obligations.
Post-secondary education in International Trade, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in customs compliance or brokerage.
Strong knowledge of CBSA regulations, tariff classification, and trade agreements (e.g., CUSMA, CPTPP).
Experience with CBSA Assessment and Revenue Management (CARM) Client Portal.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Assets:
Experience working in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and Refrigeration
Experience working in Maritime Transportation or Freight Forwarding
Annual base salary: $70,000 to $80,000
Additional compensation: Annual bonus
The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's skills and experience, following current regulations.
