Customs Clerk (Certified Customs Specialist/Customs Broker/ Customs Rater)

Courtney Agencies Ltd. is a family-operated customs brokerage and freight logistics company founded in 1955 and located in downtown Vancouver.

Courtney is seeking a

Customs Clerk

to join our customs operations team in our downtown Vancouver office.

Responsibilities

Apply your minimum 1 year of Canadian customs clearance work experience to clearing courier LVS shipments and managing monthly courier LVS work flow for the team in a timely and responsible manner.

Communicate with service providers, clients and colleagues. Provide admin support to the customs team including responding to telephone inquiries.

This is an entry level role supporting a senior customs team. We are looking for a minimum of one year of Canadian customs experience.

Strong data entry (accuracy, consistency, speed) and strong software skills Communication (spoken & written English skills) with a client service orientation Attention to detail, critical thinking and numeracy skills Commitment to team happiness and success as well as personal development Comfortable with complexity and problem solving Organized, able to prioritize and deliver in a busy environment Learning orientation and open to feedback Reliable and consistent a more senior candidate will also bring broad tariff and classification experience, knowledge of duties, taxes, HVS and LVS processing, PARS, OGD reporting, trade agreements, rules of origin, ACI and CARM, etc.

Education

CCS designation or equivalent or willing to pursue with company support Post-secondary education degree is a strong asset Career focus in international trade, customs and/or logistics

Compensation & Location

Competitive salary based on experience and skills. This is a full-time position located in downtown Vancouver office (this is not a hybrid role). Please submit resume and cover letter and confirmation you are a permanent resident of Canada.

Pay: $38,000.00-$48,000.00 per year
