Job Description


Your primary role is to ensure the customers\xe2\x80\x99 requirements are met, through ensuring the on time delivery performance (OTDP) and scanning compliance of owner operators is compiled to on a daily basis. You will also be responsible for the distribution of fair and equitable route planning for owner operators. Effective communications is a key part of this role with owner operators and other employees. Additionally, you will have a hands on role within our warehouse operations. Responsibilities:

  • Ensure dispatch coverage of routes on a daily basis and provide recommendation of need for more drivers. Add routes as required.
  • Optimize, load and balance routes, close routes from prior day
  • Assign driver routes, report of attendance and any issues.
  • Monitor and adhere to key performance indicators (accurate scans) within the operations as outlined by company and customer requirements.
  • Respond in a timely manner to owner operators and handle accordingly with correct responses for callbacks, messages or cancellations.
  • Follow up with drivers regarding OTDP, scanning and undeliverable issues and escalate where issues arise.
  • Communicate/contact undeliverable customers for resolution.
  • Assist/coach owner operators to meet maximum potential while maintaining delivery time specifications.
  • Recognize and prioritize any internal or driver issues and communicate verbally/email.
  • Manage rescue driver process.
  • Perform daily warehouse tasks including participation in sort/unload of freight and operate forklift (training provided) and provide assistant where needed.
  • Escalate major issues/ equipment failure or any other matters to Senior Managers for resolution.
  • Communicate with other departments as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of high school & post-secondary studies (preferred).
  • Previous experience in transportation dispatch /warehouse facility a definite asset.
  • Proficiency in computer software (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitasking and work under pressure.
