This employment opportunity is open to Nunavut Inuit.



The Customer Service Representative will be the main and first contact for members of the public coming to the City of Iqaluit building to do business or to meet City officials. The Customer Service Representative will perform all reception and administrative duties for the City. This position assist in the delivery of city services in a cross-cultural setting. The representative helps with data entry requirements and general clerical support for the departments.



The ideal candidate will hold a Grade 12 diploma, and have some post secondary courses in Office Administration or related field with a minimum 1 years' work experience in administration.



In this customer-service orientated role, the successful candidate must also have:

experience and confidence speaking to members of the public and all levels of fellow staff in both Inuktitut and English; excellent problem solving skills, professional writing skills and computer literate with a working knowledge of MS Suite, organizational skills with file management systems experience.



Equivalencies that include a combination of education and experience will be considered.

The successful candidate would be required to submit an acceptable Criminal Record Check.

Le representant du service a la clientele sera le principal et le premier contact pour les gens du public qui se rendront au bureau de la Ville d'Iqaluit pour etablir des relations d'affaires ou rencontrer des representants de la Ville. La personne en poste devra s'acquitter de taches administratives et de reception pour la Ville. Ce poste consiste a assister la Ville a la prestation des services municipaux dans un contexte interculturel. Le representant aide a la saisie des donnees et fournit un soutien administratif general aux differents services.



La candidature ideale doit avoir termine sa 12e annee et suivi quelques cours postsecondaires en administration ou dans un domaine connexe avec un minimum d'un an d'experience de travail en administration.



Dans ce role axe sur le service a la clientele, la personne retenue doit egalement :

Posseder une experience et une aisance pour s'adresser au public ou au personnel municipal en inuktitut ou en anglais; detenir d'excellentes capacites de resolution de problemes, des competences professionnelles en redaction et en informatique, avec une maitrise de la suite Microsoft; demontrer des aptitudes organisationnelles, notamment en ce qui a trait a la gestion des fichiers.



Des equivalences qui comprennent une combinaison d'etudes et d'experience peuvent etre prises en consideration.
