This is a role for an

experienced paint technician.

This role requires extensive knowledge on color matching techniques in Architectural and Industrial paint products.

This senior position assists in branch operations and requires an in-depth knowledge of paint and the ability to handle complex customer service situations

Wage is negotiable depending on previous experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES



Customer Service

Answer complex customer inquiries in person and by phone. Tint and shake paint, as well as troubleshoot difficult matches. Conduct colour matches for architectural and industrial products. Accurately complete complex sales and process refunds using the POS system. Determine and recommend products to customers. Record information in customer colour history, using sequential tint code system.
Paint Experience

Tint and match colours in all tint systems. Ensure that formulas are accurate, and entered into the POS. Train fellow staff on procedures to reduce mistints and tinting errors. Ensure of proper colour load and base for products. Create drawdowns or spray out samples for customers. Ensure of accurate filing of colours and customers orders. Work closely with Sales Reps, and customers to consult about colours (e.g., colour flopping). Provide on-site colour matching as required.
Customer Service

Carry out opening and closing procedures for the branch, including POS functions. Stock shelves and rotate product in accordance with batch date. Place orders with the Order Desk, and coordinate the shipments of products from other branches and outside suppliers. Ship and receive product, review packing slips for accuracy, and load and unload delivery trucks. Fill tint canisters and complete necessary documentation. Actively work with Sales Representatives to ensure customer needs are met. Work closely with contractors, both trade and industrial, in cooperation with the sales departments. Update bin locations and inventory product replenishment. Calculate minimum and maximum stock levels and seasonal minimum and maximum stock levels. Fulfill cleaning duties to maintain a clean and safe workplace. Actively participate in all offered training, and report any safety concerns immediately to management and the safety steward. Other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS



3-5 years of Retail Sales in Paint Industry

Ability to lift up to 50lb regularly

Ability to stand for long periods of time

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Excellent customer service skills Attention to detail Good communication skills Strong problem solving skills Team player and capable of mentoring junior staff Strong work ethic, with a can-do attitude Must have a demonstrated desire and ability to color match Fully understands the requirements of the branch's color filing system An advanced working knowledge of the tint systems and color matching equipment A comprehensive knowledge of the computer color matching equipment and the ability to use its storage/filing functions. Complete knowledge of the customer's color needs and requirements.
