JOB SUMMARY:



We are currently accepting resumes for an experienced Customer Service Representative for our Smithers, BC operations. This position plays a vital role in supporting the smooth daily operation of our freight and customer service functions.

Nature & Scope of Position



The Customer Service Representative is a key administrative and customer-facing role at Bandstra's Smithers terminal. This position serves as a vital link between internal departments, customers, and external carriers to ensure the accurate flow of freight documentation, data entry, and communication. Working closely with dispatch, warehouse staff, and management, the Customer Service Representative helps maintain efficient terminal operations and high levels of customer satisfaction.



This is a full-time, on-site position (8 AM - 5 PM), Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday. Applicants must reside in Smithers.


Key Responsibilities




Review and print Vancouver/Edmonton freight manifests for the warehouse. Answer phones and assist customers when dispatch is unavailable. Follow up on OS&D issues and missing freight. Provide front counter customer service. Enter BOLs and track and follow up on PODs. Receive, label, and process courier freight (e.g., Purolator, FedEx). Contact customers about HFPU and collect shipments. Assist with manifesting and dispatch support. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Skills & Experience




Minimum two years of data entry and office experience. Good customer service skills and strong interpersonal abilities. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word). Must be fluent in spoken and written English. Must be highly organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work as part of a collaborative team. Knowledge of TDG paperwork requirements is an asset. Knowledge of the transportation industry and TruckMate software is an asset.

Hourly wage will be based on skills and experience; and
