Customer Service Engineer (ft)

Job Description


We are growing and hiring a Customer Service Engineer to perform on-site and remote service support for Corvus customers. Service work includes installation support, complex systems commissioning, troubleshooting and diagnosis, on-site system testing/characterization and training of customer personnel. This “hands-on” engineer will also do repairs and modifications when required. Responsibilities include:

  • Travel to customer sites internationally to perform service and system commissioning.
  • Diagnose and repair hardware assembly, software configuration, network and integration issues, and update firmware
  • Provide remote support to guide and assist customers.
  • Collect State of Health (SOH) test data, perform data analysis and create reports.
  • Create Sales Orders and RMAs for shipping components to and from customers.
  • Create and maintain internal and customer-facing documentation related to installation, operation, testing, rework and diagnostics of Corvus ESS systems.
  • Provide technical training to customers.
  • Participate in development of training programs for new product introductions.
  • Additional duties as required.

Skills and Experience:
  • Degree or Diploma in Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of practical work experience in a Service Engineering environment, preferably in marine electronics.
  • Experience with the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of complex industrial equipment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills applied to electrical, mechanical and software systems.
  • Experience working with communication systems and networks. Working knowledge of data transfer standards.
  • Able to travel internationally up to 50% yearly, have a valid passport and driver’s license.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to meet the travel requirements.
  • Must be eligible to meet and maintain requirements for security clearance as applicable.
  • If required, must be able to work additional hours to meet the objectives of the position.
  • Experience with ship systems (electrical & mechanical) is an asset.
  • Experience with lithium-ion battery technology and systems is an asset.
