Job Description

The incumbent must have a positive team attitude and exhibit excellence in Customer Service.

This individual would oversee the merchandising of all regular and seasonal product and co-ordinate all Point of Purchase (P.O.P.) and signage materials. The Merchandiser ensures all sections are kept up-to-date regarding product mix, rotation, and planogram integrity. Merchandisers should be willing to wear many other hats during a daily shift.

The below represents the general details associated with the principal functions of the position and should not be construed as a detailed job description. The incumbent may be required to perform other job related duties as assigned.

1. Assist at the Cash Register.

2. Assume responsibility for working back room stock out to the front store as required, as well as maintaining and monitoring the overstock area to maximize inventory control.

3. Take an active role in monitoring and replenishing all advertised product including P.O.P. materials and signage.

4. Most importantly, planogram implementation should become a priority and be scheduled to ensure completion in a timely manner.

5. Ensure daily facing of sections. Delegate section responsibilities or merchandising tasks to Customer Service Operator's as directed by Management.

6. Ensure proper merchandising techniques are being followed, such as stock rotation, expiry dates checked, right hand merchandising, shamming, sequencing etc.

7. Ensure all stock has proper signage, shelf labels and price-ticketing.

8. Ensure proper use of all merchandising tools such as clip strips, dump bins, floor displays, wire baskets and profit panels.

9. Ensure the aisles and walkways are kept clean and tidy when stocking shelves and building displays.

10. Follow retail pricing in keeping with Store Policy and procedures. Ensure all stock of the same product display the same retail price.

11. Follow store policies pertaining to inventory management.

12. Responsible to develop product knowledge: both a basic understanding of the product's use and its sales movement.

13. Provide exceptional customer service in this highly visible role.

General Duties

1. Ensure all store training is completed within required time frames.

2. Maintain a professional image, including complete uniform, name tag, and proper grooming.

3. Operate cash register according to store policy, verifying customer purchases and issuing receipts.

4. Assist with customer inquiries and call for assistance when needed.

5. Ensure staff and customer safety by addressing or reporting potential barriers or hazards on store property.

6. Communicate to Management any issues requiring follow up or needing attention.

JOB REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES



Customer service experience

Working knowledge of retail math and basic computer operations.

Well organized, detailed, flexible, self-starting and co-operative attitude.

Some retail or cash handling experience preferred.

Possess strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Have a strong sense of ownership for roles and responsibilities and take pride in a well maintained store.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From $17.60 per hour
