Position Profile

Reporting to the Lead, Quality Engineering the Customer Quality Engineering Technologist is responsible to; develop and execute strategies to improve the quality of products delivered to the customer, conduct product conformity investigations including root cause analysis for issues reported by the customer, liaise with process owners to ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented and effective and perform data analysis to detect trends and potential opportunities for process improvement.



Duties & Responsibilities



Direct Accountabilities:



Accountable for ensuring product nonconformity issues reported from the customer are addressed in the company's procedures, considering its scope and severity. Perform investigation related to corrective actions including root cause analysis of significant product quality problems to minimize risk or reoccurrence. Liaise with Methods Engineering, Design Engineering, Supplier Quality Engineering, Quality Control, and Technical Support to identify and report risks and implement actions to resolve technical or quality issues. Evaluate and develop robust procedures for the quality management system related processes. Establish and maintain standard work around customer systems. Enhance the analysis of fleet/warranty return data and develop a good understanding of component and system reliability and maintainability indices. Create, monitor and report metrics, perform data analysis identifying trends in customer satisfaction and Liaise with Customer Support Management group to determine implement actions to determine root cause and resolve issues. Initiate action to improve process and/or product quality in accordance with the company's procedures. Provide customer-oriented data to the quality engineering team to assist with on-going production and vendor RCCA activities.

Indirect Accountabilities:



Support the implementation of proactive actions to reduce the probability of errors that affect product quality. Review documents that affect product quality; participate in approval process on behalf of quality department. Assist in the development of standard work for all Customer Service activities. Support other team members by providing training where necessary on the Quality Management System practices and methodologies. Propose and support improvement projects related to QMS Procedures.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in engineering OR post-secondary education in a related discipline OR acceptable combination of education and experience in the field of aeronautics or manufacturing high precision product. Experience employing quality engineering statistical techniques/tools to isolate problems and determine the risks. Experience determining issue/casual analysis leading to implementing corrective actions. Experience working with an Enterprise resource planning (ERP) Database. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to manage conflicts. Experience with Net Inspect or similar inspection software is a plus. Experience working as a QC inspector OR working closely with QC inspectors is a plus.

Skills

Good organizational skills and ability to work independently with minimum of supervision and direction. Good problem-solving skills and techniques, ability to read and understand technical drawings. Excellent computer skills relating to creating, modifying, and processing controlled documents. Proficient in MS word, PowerPoint, and Excel Excellent verbal and written communication skills A positive and proactive attitude Strong team player

General Work Conditions

Work in an operational environment Work in the office at the location of the business May be required to travel.
