Position function: Reporting to the Commercial Director, the individual will be responsible for leading all aspects of the Sales process for Canadian Nutrition customers.
Scope: The Customer Development Manager (CDM) is responsible to promote the company's products to all existing and prospective accounts within Canada. The individual will develop and maintain productive working relationships with customers to achieve pipeline sufficiency and sales goals, focusing on core distributed and value-add products. In-person and online sales calls with key nutrition stakeholders are required to increase share of wallet with existing customers, and to expand the customer base within Canada. The individual will provide feedback and make recommendations based on market conditions and competitive landscape. Assigned territory - Canada.
Key Responsibilities
Develop a strategy and sales approach that aligns with Caldic's Strategy, Products and Capabilities
Responsible for setting and executing stretch budget goals aligned with the organization's objectives
Create and deliver sales presentations to target customers, aligning Company's offerings to their needs
Prospect for new accounts utilizing media, trade shows and cold calls to grow their territory
Meet or exceed established in person and online customer calls, pipeline sufficiency and material margin KPIs
Provide technical support to customers using various internal tools and resources available
Knowledge / Skills /& Experiences
Degree or Diploma in Business, Food Science or equivalency is a strong asset
5-15 years of ingredient sales experience required with a preference for functional and technical ingredients
Outstanding follow-up skills, including samples, quotes, technical data packages, presentations, etc.
Ability to ask great questions to identify Customer needs, to provide customized, value-add, innovative solutions
Strong communication skills, both external and internal
Understanding of Company product positioning and competitive conditions
Sales and marketing proficiency
Strong interpersonal skills
A strong track record of success (profitable sales growth)
Good leadership skills
Well organized with excellent time management ability
A great team member, with ability to work with cross functional teams to execute Customer strategies
Takes the initiative and works with little supervision
Excellent knowledge of and ability to develop skills in using full suite of Microsoft tools including Powerpoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, Dynamics, PowerBI and SharePoint
