Strassburger Windows and Doors is looking for an experienced window and door fabricator & service technician to join our growing and dynamic team. This role will be responsible for building custom window designs in our facility as well as visiting customer locations to inspect, repair and adjust windows and doors. This is a full-time position (Monday to Friday with no weekends), and includes a competitive pay and benefits package, a business cell phone, and a company vehicle equipped with tools and a gas card.

Due to the volume of both custom work and service calls throughout the year, a full 40-hour workweek may vary between how much time per week is spent on service calls and custom work.

In this role, you will be responsible for...

Shaping raw material into custom windows

Cutting and welding for straight sided shapes

Heat material in oven for bending curved shapes

Use precision cuts or bending tables to set forms and add accessories

Help maintain an organized and tidy workspace to ensure smooth processes and enable your team to produce the best quality products

Collaborate with other team members to ensure production requirements are met safely and efficiently

Providing on-site Vinyl / PVC window and door repairs and service.

Completing hardware replacement, glazing, as well as window and door adjustments.

Installing door slabs and patio door sashes.

Identifying, requesting, and loading parts.

Documenting and recording service work orders when completed.

Accountability for the accuracy and quality of his / her work, combined with a strong attention to detail.

Striving for 100% satisfaction from all customers.

Demonstrating excellent time management including the ability to prioritize work.

Maintaining a clean and respectful workplace.

The successful individual must have:

Work experience in woodworking, carpentry and manufacturing

Strong finish & fine carpentry skills (i.e., trim, one point, two-point welders, chop saw etc.)

Attention to detail and able to read shop drawings/cut lists

Team player focused answering to a team leader and plant manager

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Some heavy lifting required

Ability to read a tape measure

Ability to work out measurements and calculations

Needs to be able to work quickly and accurately while having the ability to shift to other tasks as required

Completion of secondary school preferred

2 years' woodworking experience

A good understanding of window and door systems and the associated installation processes.

A valid driver's license with an excellent driving record. (Proof required for insurability)

The ability to provide knowledgeable and helpful information to homeowners, contractors and dealers.

The qualities of flexibility, dependability, and reliability

A commitment to precision, accuracy, and organization in completing work tasks.

A comfort level with working at heights (training provided)

Demonstrated commitment to following company health & safety policies.

Skills with a variety of hand and power tools.

Confidence to work independently.

Renumeration is based on experience.
