About the Role



We're looking for an

Accounting Assistant

who brings both precision and passion. This role keeps our financial systems running smoothly, managing accounts payable, receivable, reconciliations, and reporting.

This position will be

based in-office

at our new

Cochrane/West Calgary

location (opening soon!). Until the office is ready, the role will start remotely with regular in-person collaboration.

What You'll Do



Expense Management:

Review and code invoices, credit card charges, and expense reports accurately across cost centers.

Accounts Payable & Receivable:

Process outgoing payments on time, post daily receipts, and maintain positive relationships with customers, professional follow-up on overdue accounts included.

Commission & Royalties:

Prepare monthly sales commission reports and quarterly royalty payments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Reconciliations:

Complete credit card, intercompany, prepaid, fixed asset, and accrual reconciliations.

Month-End Duties:

Journal entries, reporting, and tax prep support.

Cost Tracking & Support:

Provide visibility to teams on budgets and spend, ensuring accountability across the business.

What We're Looking For



3+ years' experience in AP/AR, reconciliations, and internal controls. Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred. ERP exposure (e.g., JDE, Qlik) and advanced Excel is a plus. Experience with month-end close processes. Strong attention to detail and an ability to work independently in a remote-first, high-accountability environment. Extremely comfortable on the phones, making calls to customers, discussion payments. Alignment with BUFF's culture: collaborative, active, sustainability-minded.
