: Boreal Woodwork is a Winnipeg based, multi-disciplinary woodworking company with divisions in stair building, finish carpentry and millwork + cabinetry. Who we are looking for
: Custom Fabricator to produce the custom details within our millwork and cabinetry shop. This individual should be experienced working in the field of cabinetmaking and be comfortable collaborating with others on larger projects or working on their own. Preference will be given to someone who has an understanding of the full scope of the work from creating a cut list to final installation.

Work in our shop to take projects from a shop drawing to a finished piece of millwork. Types of projects include custom cabinetry and built-ins, paneling, beams and one off furniture pieces. We also provide support to our finish carpentry division, sometimes jumping mid day to produce trim pieces, panels or whatever our field staff need.
Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret shop drawings, communicate with shop foreman, project manager and production engineer to ensure initial intent is met
Work in an efficient and timely manner, balancing quality and project deadlines
Uphold company mission and vision,
Create accurate material takeoffs and cut lists from shop drawings, if necessary
Pull from take-off materials for best yield, considering grain matching when called for
Fabricate complex cabinets and components, verify cabinets are built to specification, prep for finish
Layout and install door and drawer hardware (pocketing door systems, concealed hinges, etc)
Design, fabricate and maintain jigs as is necessary to complete the projects
Glue-ups for assemblies, veneers and solid wood bent laminations. Experience with vacuum bag, jigs and contact adhesives
Hardwood components, fabricate mouldings, build door and drawers
Ensure a safe, clean, and productive work environment for you and others
Perform minor machinery maintenance and other shop upkeep
Master the use of shop machinery
Qualifications and Skills
Experience working in high end production environment
Physical abilities include manual dexterity, good eye-hand coordination, physical fitness and the ability to lift and carry heavy objects such as cabinets, doors, panels, beams and other materials
Ability to solve mathematical problems quickly and accurately
Effectively manage time, able and willing to work diligently and efficiently - able to self-manage time and tasks, complete work quickly, but accurately to meet deadline
Thorough understanding of wood products and the operation and installation of cabinet hardware
Knowledge of woodworking joinery techniques
Ability to read and interpret shop drawings
Experience using panel saws, table saws, routers, planers, jointers, edge banders, pneumatic presses, clamps and hand tools safely
Works well Independently and as a teammate within the company
Desire to continuously learn and grow - willing to try new techniques and building methods and help refine shop processes
Requirements
5 years of experience cabinetry and millwork production
Reliable transportation to get to work daily
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $26.00-$32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 - 45 per week
