Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian/Cleaner to join our team at Little Cubs. The ideal candidate will be working after the centre closes at 5:30pm and is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation across various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting, supporting the overall maintenance and appearance of the premises through efficient cleaning practices.

Duties

Perform thorough cleaning of commercial spaces, including floors, windows, restrooms, classrooms, and common areas using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment. Utilize hand tools and power tools for tasks such as scrubbing, polishing, or minor repairs as needed. Conduct facilities maintenance tasks to ensure equipment and fixtures are functioning properly. Operate custodial equipment including vacuums, floor buffers, and other cleaning machinery. Manage waste disposal and recycling processes in accordance with company policies. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding cleaning schedules or issues encountered. Assist with heavy lifting or moving furniture and equipment when necessary.

Skills

Proven experience in commercial cleaning or custodial services preferred. Familiarity with facilities maintenance procedures and equipment operation. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and cleaning machinery safely and effectively. Strong time management skills to complete tasks efficiently within scheduled timeframes. Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and address client needs. Customer service orientation to ensure a positive experience for clients or building occupants. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods during shifts. Attention to detail to ensure high standards of cleanliness are maintained consistently. This position is vital in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our facilities, contributing directly to a positive environment for all users.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.60-$20.00 per hour
