CUSTODIAN (CANADA)

9 Month Term Position

Emergent BioSolutions is currently seeking a Custodian for our Facilities Department at our Winnipeg location for a 9 month term position. The select candidate will have completed grade 12 from an accredited educational institution and have 1 year of relevant experience. Must have good working knowledge of janitorial functions and the ability o operate powered cleaning equipment, have strong interpersonal and communication skills, and have a cooperative approach to teamwork. In addition, this individual will possess a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence and innovation.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining all non-GMP areas of the interior/exterior facility in a clean, healthy, audit ready state.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Clean all administrative and common areas: empty garbage, clean floors, dust, clean windows, etc. as required.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance tasks in SAP related to cleaning.
• Maintain detailed cleaning logs for all areas of responsibility.
• Perform snow removal as required.
• May oversee contractors employed to perform the general maintenance and repairs to the facility and grounds.
• Maintain all material, supplies and equipment used to maintain the facility.
• Participate in and maintain all required job specific and safety training.
• Maintain a current and detailed knowledge of cGMP.
• Seek ways to increase operational efficiency.
• Participate in special projects as required.
• Other duties as assigned by the custodial supervisor.
• Assists with continuous improvement projects within the department

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• Completion of Grade 12 from an accredited educational institution preferred combined with minimum 1 year of related experience.
• Experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment is an asset.
• Good working knowledge of janitorial functions and the ability to operate powered cleaning equipment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Cooperative approach to teamwork with emphasis on successfully completing site goals and providing strong customer service to internal stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and planning skills with a great attention to detail.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Citizenship/Permanent Resident or Valid Work Permit.
• Successful Completion of a Criminal Record Check.
• Medical assessment required upon start.
