Custodian

to join our opening team.

As a Custodian, you will play an essential role in ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and beauty of all public spaces throughout Squamish Canyon. Your attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and inviting environment will help shape the first and lasting impressions of our guests.

Key Responsibilities



Daily Cleaning & Maintenance


Perform daily janitorial duties according to the assigned schedule. Tidy, vacuum, sweep, and mop all public areas including offices, bathrooms, boardwalks, and outdoor spaces. Thoroughly clean, sanitize, and restock bathrooms to maintain guest and staff comfort.
Safety & Reporting


Practice safe work procedures at all times and immediately rectify and/or report any safety hazards. Change garbage and recycling bins daily and maintain waste management areas. Report any maintenance or supply issues promptly to your supervisor.
Team Support


Assist with additional tasks around Squamish Canyon as needed to support smooth operations. Contribute positively to a team environment focused on safety, cleanliness, and hospitality.

Qualifications



Strong sense of discretion, honesty, and attention to detail. Highly motivated to create a safe, clean, and well-organized environment for guests and staff. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Reliable, punctual, and consistent in attendance and performance. Professional appearance with good personal hygiene. Physically capable of lifting, moving, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 50 pounds. Able to work on your feet for extended periods, including bending, crouching, and kneeling. (This is a physically demanding role.) WHMIS certification (preferred but not mandatory)

Work Conditions



Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends, mornings, evenings, and holidays. Primarily indoor work, with occasional duties in outdoor areas, subject to varying weather conditions. Physical stamina is required for standing, walking, lifting, and performing manual tasks for long periods. Exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment usage is part of daily responsibilities.
