This position is accountable for ensuring a clean, safe and healthy facility and grounds for visitors and staff, and contributing to preventative and light maintenance for the building, grounds and assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment for all Wanuskewin patrons and staff by consistently completing daily, weekly and monthly routine procedures.
Ensure each room in the facility is adequately stocked with necessary custodial inventory and advise management of supply needs in advance ensuring inventory is kept at reasonable levels.
Use facility equipment in a safe, responsible and proper manner and ensure excellence in the stewardship of all resources.
Participate in safety meetings and the development of safety policies, notify management of any safety concerns or hazards, ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
Conduct light maintenance duties to building and equipment to ensure longevity.
Perform outdoor maintenance duties as assigned, including snow and garbage removal.
Provide notification to management of any potential equipment/asset breakdowns.
Collaborates across the organization to ensure quality client oriented services are provided that meet the overall organizational direction.
Works in a safe manner, following safety regulations
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
A minimum of three years experience in this field.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team.
Certificates in WHMIS, First Aid/CPR would be considered assets.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
A suitable combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable transportation to and from on-site work location.
Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and present a satisfactory drivers abstract.
Physical Requirements:
Physically capable of completing duties typical of custodial work and light maintenance, which include walking and standing for long periods of time, bending, pushing, lifting up to 50 pounds, using a ladder, and other physical acts.
Additional Requirements:
A satisfactory criminal record check is required as a condition of employment.
