The department of Program and Pathway Services (PPS) is responsible for the ongoing advancement of existing and new credit programming at NAIT which includes leadership in developing new learning opportunity proposals, managing Advanced Education program records, and ensuring existing programs maintain alignment with NAIT and ministerial policy and frameworks.

Reporting to the manager of Program and Pathway Services, and working closely with the project team, the CMS Operational Specialist will act as a primary resource and subject matter expert in the implementation of NAIT\'s new curriculum management system. The successful candidate will be familiar with curriculum and course data elements, curriculum approval processes, and have previous experience testing software and developing training/support documentation. The Project Specialist must be adaptable and comfortable with change and, within the scope of their role, bring forward suggestions for improvements to business processes and contribute solutions that will satisfy multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act at a key resource and subject matter expert on NAIT\'s credit curriculum information and processes
  • Support set up, configuration and testing of the curriculum management system
  • Document processes and procedures associated to curriculum records, workflow and other associated system functionality
  • Support the organization of data cleansing, data entry and other related requirements tasks for implementation
  • Lead the development and delivery of training to NAIT staff for implementation
Skills & Abilities:
  • Detailed knowledge of NAIT\'s program records and associated processes for the collection, maintenance and reporting of those records
  • Advanced interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with a variety of clients and stakeholders
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills utilized when reviewing processes, identifying gaps, and making recommendations
  • Capacity to organize and prioritize projects and activities, and adapt to ongoing changes and deadlines
  • Nimble learning to apply to new and diverse situations, seek new approaches and learn quickly when faced with new situations
Qualifications:
  • Related degree such as Arts, Commerce or Business Administration
  • Minimum 1 year experience working in post-secondary required
  • Experience NAIT\'s current CMS required
  • Project Management experience an asset
  • Experience in software implementations an asset
  • Equivalencies may be considered
Remuneration: $55,138.46 - $72,519.72 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Classification - Admin. Officer I).

This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.
