Join FEATURE FOODS-We are bottlers, picklers, and manufacturers. We produce a variety of herring, sauce, and condiment products ranging in size from small glass jars to pails and barrels. We are currently recruiting for a CURING ROOM SUPERVISOR
The Curing Room Supervisor works in a dynamic and fast-paced food manufacturing environment. They are responsible for all aspects of the Curing operation. The position will be managing the Curing team and ensuring all equipment and production area are clean and organized to ensure the process run safely and efficiently.
WHAT YOU WILL DO -Job Duties
Oversee all daily operations of the Curing Room, ensuring fish is processed in accordance with established SOPs and quality standards.
Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels of raw and finished product.
Ensure the cooler and curing areas are kept clean, organized, and compliant with sanitation and food safety
requirements.
Verify that all production and curing records are accurately completed and submitted on time.
Supervise and train staff within the Curing Room on curing procedures, product handling, and equipment operation.
Coordinate product flow between processing, curing, and packing departments to maintain production efficiency.
Identify and report any deviations or non-conformances in curing conditions, temperatures, or product quality.
Operate a forklift to move product or materials safely and efficiently.
Required Qualifications-What you bring to FEATURE FOODS:
Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced food production environment with repetitive tasks.
Capable of setting up and operating production and curing equipment while maintaining sanitation to CFIA and
GMP standards.
Minimum 1-3 years of supervisory experience in food processing or a similar production environment.
3-5 years of experience operating a forklift, with valid certification preferred.
Strong communication skills in both written and verbal English.
Legally eligible to work in Canada.
Working Conditions:
The work environment is a food manufacturing facility with a wide range of ambient and refrigerated temperatures.
Exposure to strong odours (e.g., vinegar, brine, fish) and other flavourful ingredients used in curing processes.
Routine work in refrigerated environments with temperatures ranging from 2C to 5C.
This position requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times
