POSITION SUMMARY
The Part-Time Casual Culinary Services Assistant will support the operations of our self-operated cafe. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced, and evolving environment; enjoys tackling challenges; demonstrates a strong customer service orientation; and feels comfortable working within a culturally diverse campus community.
Reporting to the Program Director - Culinary, the incumbent is responsible for providing excellent customer service to users and assisting the Cafe operation inside our campus.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet and assist customers with warmth, professionalism, and accuracy
  • Prepare espresso-based drinks, drip coffee, teas, and smoothies; Reheat and serve light meals and baked goods (cakes, pastries, etc.)
  • Handle the counter services, such as operating the POS system and handle transactions (cash, credit, student card), deliver drink & food at the counter
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards at all times (wipe tables, clear dishes, sweep floors, clean machines, etc.)
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, as well as mid-shift restocking and prep
  • Restock supplies as needed (cups, ingredients, etc.)
  • Ensure a smooth flow of service, especially during busy hours
  • Familiar with brewing methods, task management and multitasking
  • Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Other duties/projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1+ years of experience in a similar hospitality environment
  • Passion for hospitality and commitment to teamwork.
  • Requires a flexible schedule that can accommodate events if needed
