About the Role
Manage and direct the culinary operations and promotion of the Residence.
Oversight of the Culinary team, including interpreting Corporate and Residence policies, procedures and practices and communicating these to the appropriate personnel in a positive manner.
Oversight on Capital budget, recruitment and training, and active in employee relations to build a strong culinary team that supports resident life.
Manage in accordance with all industry and regulatory compliance agencies, the Ontario Retirement Communities Association, The Retirement Homes Act 2010 and O. Reg 166/1, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Fire Code, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and other pertinent legislated regulations/ standards.
Available for on-call rotation.

Experience
Chef/Cook Certification from a recognized college, preferably Red Seal.
Graduate of a recognized course in Food Service Supervision. Eligible for membership in the Food Service Supervisor's Association/Management.
Experience with quantity food preparation and execution, ideally in a 5-star hotel or Retirement Living environment. Skill in planning, coordinating and supervising comprehensive food services programs.
Knowledge of relevant government legislation and standards.
Demonstrates knowledge of all regulations under the Acts that govern the standards in health care facilities.
Ability to meet time and financial restraints in service to residents and be effective with multiple interruptions in daily routine.
Self-directed and team-oriented, with strong organization and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstration of leadership and coaching skills. Experience in recruitment, policy implementation, and health and safety standards.
Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, in order to communicate effectively electronically. Willingness to learn multiple computer applications related to Finance, Operations, Recognition and Customer Relations.
Must successfully complete a Police Records Check and disclose any convictions, charges, restraining orders, probation orders and/or warrants during the course of employment that affect in any way the clear Police Records Check.
Must provide documentation to support a Tuberculosis Skin Test (TST) or Medical Note from a Physician stating free from infectious disease.
