About the Opportunity



We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Culinary Arts professional to lead our Grade 7-12 Culinary Arts Program. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about inspiring young learners, building industry-level training in a school setting, and shaping a program that prepares students with both foundational and advanced culinary skills.


Key Responsibilities




Design and deliver an engaging Culinary Arts program for students in Grades 7-12. Develop hands-on, industry-aligned learning experiences aligned with Alberta curriculum outcomes. Maintain a safe, organized, and professional teaching kitchen environment. Support students in developing practical skills, safety and sanitation practices, and confidence in the culinary field. Build connections with local industry partners and explore pathways for certifications, career exploration, and work experience opportunities. Manage kitchen operations, ordering, equipment maintenance, and food safety records. Collaborate with school leadership to grow the program's vision and long-term sustainability.

Required

Qualifications

:




Significant professional culinary experience; and/or Red Seal Certification in Cook (Alberta or recognized equivalent)

Preferred Qualifications:




Experience working with youth or in an instructional/training capacity Strong organizational skills and the ability to run a fully functioning school kitchen safely and efficiently Knowledge of Alberta Career and Technology Studies (CTS) frameworks is an asset

Salary & Benefits:




Salary is dependent upon qualifications and experience Benefits will be provided after 90 calendar days of employment
