Job Summary

The Team



The Fort St. John Law Court team is a supportive and energetic group dedicated to delivering exceptional service within the justice system. With a balance of experienced and newer staff, the team works closely with sheriffs, counsel, judiciary, and other justice stakeholders to ensure fair and effective access to justice for the community.


The Role



This role provides administrative support to all levels of Court by performing pre-court, in-court, and post-court duties, as well as delivering front counter services. As part of a dynamic and fast-paced environment, you'll help ensure court proceedings are accurately recorded, documents are processed correctly, and the public has access to timely and reliable court information.





Qualifications:



Education and Experience Requirements




Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED). Minimum of two years' administrative support or customer service experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Minimum of one-year previous work experience in keyboarding, data entry, word processing, and working with standard computer applications and software programs (e.g., Windows, MS Word, Excel, Outlook). Keyboard speed of 40 words per minute. Valid B.C. drivers' licence.




Preference may be given to candidates with:




Experience in court programs and applications (e.g., JUSTIN, CEIS, ARC, CTAS, CCD). Experience as a Court Clerk and/or Registry Clerk. One year of previous work experience in a legal environment.




Provisos:




May be required to work flexible hours, including varied shifts and overtime on short notice.
May be required to travel, including travel in adverse weather conditions and work in other geographical areas, including circuit court locations. Must have reliable transportation and/or be willing to travel with others.
