Job Overview:



We are seeking a reliable and experienced

Cross-Border Driver

to transport goods safely and efficiently between Canada and the United States. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely deliveries, adhering to all safety regulations, and providing excellent customer service while crossing the border. This position requires both Canadian and U.S. travel and knowledge of relevant cross-border regulations.

Key Responsibilities:



Safely operate a commercial vehicle to transport freight between Canada and the United States. Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of goods while adhering to schedules. Complete necessary documentation for cross-border transportation, including customs paperwork, manifests, and shipping documents. Maintain compliance with both Canadian and U.S. trucking regulations, including hours of service, weight limits, and safety standards. Communicate with dispatchers and clients regarding route changes, delays, or other important updates. Inspect and maintain the vehicle to ensure it meets safety and operational standards. Assist with loading and unloading goods when required. Maintain accurate logs of routes, hours of service, and vehicle conditions. Follow all border crossing protocols, including customs declaration and clearance. Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including secure transportation and the safe handling of cargo.

Qualifications:



Valid Class AZ Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Minimum of 3 years of commercial driving experience, with cross-border (Canada/US) experience preferred. Knowledge of Canadian and U.S. trucking regulations, including hours of service, weight limits, and customs documentation. Familiarity with cross-border customs procedures and border security protocols. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client interactions and coordination with dispatch. Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently. Clean driving record with no serious infractions or violations. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Physically able to load/unload freight and complete vehicle inspections.

Preferred Skills:



Knowledge of both metric and imperial measurement systems. Fluency in both English and French (depending on the route and clients). Experience with GPS, route planning, and electronic logging devices (ELDs).
