Summary

This position works diligently to ensure the best position for Simplot Grower Solutions (SGS) in the acquisition of Seed, Seed Care, Inoculant, and Crop Protection products; ensure position of these products in the SGS network, and the resourcing and support for selling the products for our retails. Lead and inspire excellence in forecasting and planning for products to ensure SGS is a leader in inventory management.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the negotiation of retail Marketing Letters with each manufacturer which includes identifying incremental opportunities to enhance the margin opportunity for SGS, in cooperation with the Product Line Leads.
• Oversee planning and forecasting function and work closely with Product Line Leads to ensure timely and accurate plans.
• Oversee setting prices for Crop Protection and Seed products for locations in cooperation with Product Line leads and Market Managers
• Work with team members to develop programs and work with locations and sales team to execute programs.
• Communicate programs, pricing/sales tactics with sales employees in cooperation with Product Line Leads and Market Managers.
• Ensure Product Line Leads support location employees in assisting with pricing issues.
• Oversee reconciliation process of product inventory with distribution partners and retail locations.
• Oversee logistics processes and support distribution partners in arranging trucking, warehousing, and proper storage of all products, ensuring product is in position in season and efficiently stored in off season.
• Oversee development of reporting systems to ensure proper tracking of shipments and supply contracts.
• Direct the allocation of products to the appropriate locations to ensure optimal sales targets are met.
• Ensure communication of direction to team members
• Ensure that the Organizational Direction is clearly understood by all team members and that all team members are aligned.
• Assist with the development and communication of the company annual plan.
• Consult to the development of annual operations budget in cooperation with Director, and Region Manager
• Learn and upgrade knowledge of new products and product updates on chemical, and seed as required

Typical Education

• A Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree (Business Management or Agriculture) from 4 year college or university

Relevant Experience

8+ years related experience and/or training

• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and time sensitive requests
• Willingness to contribute additional hours to accommodate the cycles in the business, given the nature of the industry
• Legally entitled to work in Canada
• Valid Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License
