CRISM

Atlantic

)

is one of five nodes within the CRISM network, a Canada-wide intervention research network in the field of substance use. The

CRISM

network

supports research projects that transfer scientific knowledge towards the development of new treatments, including pharmaceutical approaches, psychological interventions and services for people who use substances.

Job Summary


Reporting to the Principal Investigator and the Node Manager, the Training Support Platform Coordinator will be responsible to develop and coordinate national training activities, training placements, training program documentation and all training related communications. The Coordinator will be responsible for investigating avenues for additional funding to support and grow elements of the training programs and the overall management of the CRISM training budget. Establishing and maintaining relationships with a diverse group of academic and non-academics both within and outside of the CRISM network as well as some community outreach, will be important to the success of this role and of the training platform.


Key Responsibilities


Developing, coordinating and expanding activities and programs for a national training platform focused on substance use intervention research. Drafting and finalizing required training platform documentation. Regular collaboration with mentors and mentees on training mentorship placements. Coordination of training sub-contracts for training placements and related stipends. Development and oversight of training program evaluations and assessments. Managing CRISM training budget and investigating avenues for additional funding to support growth of the platform. Record keeping and reporting of training platform strategy and progress to CRISM supervisors and external funder; the Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR).



Note


The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.



This role may require some travel as well as occasional work during evenings and weekends (e.g., conference, regional meeting attendance) so flexibility with respect to working hours may be necessary. Additional time worked can be taken 'in lieu' at a time mutually agreed upon.


Required Qualifications


Certificate or diploma in Human Resources or Adult Education with minimum two years of related experience in developing and supporting a training program. Experience developing communications, training plans and policies. Experience in securing additional funding to expand programming opportunities. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and related training systems. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely. Highly organized and detail-oriented with effective project and time management skills. Ability to work well both individually and as part of a national multidisciplinary team.



Assets


Experience evaluating effectiveness of training program and members involved. Knowledge in substance use intervention research and understanding of the research pipeline (academic & other funding structures). Experience in patient-oriented research and working with people with living and lived experience of substance use. Bilingual (verbal and written English and French).
