Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Crisis Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mental health counseling and crisis intervention, with the ability to provide support to individuals and families in distress. This role involves working closely with clients experiencing acute mental health crises, conducting assessments, and implementing effective intervention strategies. The Crisis Worker will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of clients while facilitating access to necessary resources.

Responsibilities

Provide crisis intervention and support to individuals experiencing acute mental health challenges. Conduct thorough assessments to determine immediate needs and appropriate interventions. Implement therapeutic techniques such as brief solution focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and grief counseling. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans for clients. Assist in triage processes within hospital settings or community agencies.

Qualifications

BSW, RN, RPN, SW, SSW, RP or Registered Addictions Counselor and must be a member in good standing of a college of a regulated health profession. 3-5 years of experience in mental health and crisis work. Functional understanding and ability to use concepts, principles and specific techniques of crisis intervention within a clinical context. Understanding of the Mental Health Act, psychiatric diagnostic categories and related symptoms. Experience assessing mental status and assessing risk of suicide using various assessments tools and models. Thorough familiarity with community resources. Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 Eligible to work in Canada Proficiency in both official languages is an asset

Pay: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
