JOB SCOPE



The Crew Scheduler is responsible for ensuring that all flights are properly staffed according to company and government regulations. The Crew Scheduler is responsible for covering open flights on time and they must handle day to day crew duty issues and support charter coordination. The Crew Scheduler is responsible to the Manager Crew Planning & Scheduling.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES



Brief with SOCC management and Dispatch, update logbook and email briefings for crew related information for daily flying, cancelled flights and changes from the night before; Monitor crew communications to ensure all flights are appropriately staffed in accordance with Transport Canada Regulations and company policy; Monitor and cover any open flying; Arrange accommodations and transportation for crew and when necessary, facilitate cancellations; Prepare and maintain up to date the check-in sheets to ensure accurate names and times; Prepare dead head locators for the next day (or the month) and check dead head tickets for name changes and accuracy; Obtain updated reserve list for the day in order to facilitate operations and to plan for needs; Prepare customs sheets and crew meal list for the following day; Ensure up to date customs sheet are maintained and inform relevant departments of crew names change; Update any errors in crew software from the day before and synchronize the flight times for the previous days; Anticipate any potential duty problems for that day and ensure any problems are resolved efficiently and effectively; Coordinate operations with SOCC personnel using applicable software to identify misconnections of crew; Ensure dispatch sheets are constantly updated with any crew changes; Prepare daily checklist email and send out to Flight Operations personnel about the daily events; Record all information while on shift in the logbook/email briefing; Coordinate with SOCC management and Dispatch during IROPS and monitor flight watch on critical crew; Monitor crew connections and preclearance arrangements in coordination with SOCC; Plan and amend flight crew schedules within VMO in accordance with Transport Canada regulations, company policies and the collective agreement; Support the monthly publication of crew schedules on Employee Website; Support the production of monthly credit hour and per diem report for payroll processing; Support charter facilitation and reporting of operational charter costs; Reconcile passenger documents and passenger document verification; Other duties as assigned by the Manager Crew Planning and Scheduling.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Post-secondary Aviation Management education an asset; Minimum of one year industry related work experience; Experience with VMO software an asset; Knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations and flight duty regulations; Motivated and enthusiastic team player who can work in an autonomous and/or team setting; Self-starter with demonstrated leadership, conflict resolution/problem solving and negotiating skills; Must be able to obtain a Transport Canada Restricted Airport Pass; Strong planning, organizational and time management skills; High degree of diplomacy and discretion when dealing with sensitive issues; Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure; Thrives in a fast-moving environment, with high tolerance for change; Flexible and willing to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays; Frequent sitting, computer monitor and keyboard use for extended periods of time.

Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
